Showing The Love Of God

Scripture Reading: (Jeremiah 31:3)” The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: Therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

When I consider the contents of this particular verse, one of the things that stands out most to me is the statement in which God says that He loves us with an “EVERLASTING” love.. Everlasting is eternal, or Forever, Without End. Thinking about that, it leaves me to realize and understand, that, no matter how bad I’ve been, how many mistakes I’ve made, Or how despicable I have been in this life, God still does, and will always love me.

The love of God is one of the greatest instruments in drawing others to Himself; and it is the will of God that every human being ever born enter into a living, vibrant, loving relationship with Himself; and He wants to use “us” to draw them. 2nd Corinthians 5:19 says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” He has committed unto “US” the word of reconciliation that will draw others to Him. And I believe that one of the best ways that we can help draw others to Christ, is by showing them the love of God.

God’s love is broad, knows no boundaries, and  extends to the most unlovable. That is the love that you and I must exemplify. Of course, we cannot do it in and of ourselves. But, if we allow God to have his way, in and through us, He will gladly help us to do what is impossible in our own human strength. I encourage you today to make the greatest effort in yielding show forth the love of God.

We’re praying for your strength.

Humbly Submitted,
Pastor Lowe
