Walk As He Walked
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in Love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.” (Ephesians 5:1-2)
There is probably not one person reading this who isn’t aware of the recent events that have taken place in our country; and for the most part, it seems that everyone has had an opinion about it, one way or another.
Quite honestly, I’ve had my own opinions as well. But, I’ve learned (and am still learning) not to put too much stock in what “I” think.
God’s thoughts are higher, and better.
So, I asked, “Lord, how do you see things?” and, “How would you respond in such a hostile society?”
I won’t say God spoke. But, how God sees it, and how he would respond, has already been written; and we have that record.
When Jesus walked the earth, he came to a world that was hostile and culturally divided in many ways. In fact, the Bible says that “he came to his own, and his own received him not.” He was rejected by his own world in general, and by his own people in particular.
Yet, he never got deterred because “his agenda” was totally “God’s agenda” (see John 5:30). “God so loved the world….” And Jesus never came short of exemplifying that Love.
I have, and oftentimes still do.
But today, in the midst of such chaos and hostility in our world, my earnest desire and prayer is, that, God will help “me” to follow the example of Christ in every way, walking wisely among those who are without, and seek the greater good for every man.
The Love of God is always a good option.
Peace and Blessings,
Pastor Lowe
