Remembering God’s Goodness
Scripture reading: “I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.” (Psalm 77:11)
If you’re reading this devotional I would highly recommend that you read this particular Psalm in it’s entirety.
I’m not exactly sure who wrote this one.
Most Psalms can be tied to King David, but some were written by others also.
It is believed that the Author of this Psalm was expressing the heart of an entire nation, who, at some point felt that God May have abandoned them to some degree.
“Will the Lord Cast off forever? And will he be favorable no more? Is His Mercy clean gone forever? Doth His promise fail forevermore?” (Vss. 7-8)
Apparently, the nation had entered into a challenging period of time.
Likewise, Our Nation is presently facing challenging and troubling times.
Yet there is a remedy to move beyond any troubling of the soul when faced with discouragement and turmoil.
That remedy? Remembering what God has done in times past.
God brought about a great deliverance when He brought his people out of the land of Egypt, and neither human opposition or natural power could stay His hand to keep, guide, and preserve His people.
In light of that thought, the scripture says Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
If God done it for you before, He can do it again.
For the believer, we can rest and abide in His Faithfulness, even in the toughest of times.
Abiding Peace is in “….Remembering the years of the right hand of the most High.”
Take time to Remember His Goodness.
Blessings and Peace To You Thru Christ,
Pastor Lowe
