Only By The Grace Of God
Scripture Reading: "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (1st Corinthians 15:10) This morning I left for work a couple of hours earlier than normal because I had some things that I needed to squeeze in before going to my regular job. As I was getting ready to leave the house, my neighbor came out and asked, "Lowe is that you?". I confirmed my identity, and we ended up having a brief conversation. The conversation was mostly small talk, but somewhere along the line I ended up sharing with him a little of my daily routine: and I told him because he indirectly asked. Yet, after sharing with him a bit of how my average day goes, he said, "man I don't see how you do it"... My answer to him (he's unsaved) was, "Only By the Grace Of God." My words to him were sort of cliche as they came out of my mouth; but as I drove to work and meditated on those very words that I had spoken to him, I realized in a much greater sense just how true it is. The scripture says that God "daily loadeth us with benefits" (Pslams 68:19) and I have no doubt that Grace is one of them; or, it's the ONE that brings all the rest of them. Either way, without God's grace, none of us would be capable of doing what He has called us to do, or fulfill what he has purposed, and ordained, for us to fulfill in this life.
We can only do it by His Grace alone. Lord, help us to realize that it's only by your Grace; and teach us to daily depend the Grace that you give. Thank You Lord May God Bless You and Keep You, Pastor Lowe
