“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with great power; and He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.” – (Acts 10:38 AMP)
One of the blessings and benefits of having the indwelling and abiding presence of The Holy Spirit (God) in our hearts is that He oftentimes does Great good to/for others, through us…
During this time of the year, doing good and being a blessing to those in need is more common than most other times of the year, and that’s okay.
But for the born again believer, doing good to those around us, and being a blessing and source of encouragement, should be a year-round endeavor.
Doing Good is a trait and characteristic that was common in the Life our Lord.
The abovementioned scripture says that He “went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil…”
When I think about that verse, The picture that comes to mind is seeing Jesus going from place to place to place taking every opportunity given to do someone good.
Other than the mentioning of healing, the verse doesn’t quite describe the “good” that he did; but we can gather more facts about the good he did by taking a closer look at his life overall….
He fed the hungry, Healed the hurting, and gave hope to the hopeless; just to name a few good things..
We can all do the same… and it can take on a multitude of different forms… 1. We can Give a listening ear.. 2. Speak a word of encouragement to someone who needs to hear something positive… 3. Buy lunch for someone at work… Or 4., offer to pray for someone who’s hurting.
Going Around Doing Good is part of our calling, and there’s no greater joy in life than to fulfill God’s purpose for us.
Blessings and Peace,
